Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Ovana collects, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Ovana website and application. By using Ovana, you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide: the details you share to build your case (goal, current credential, location, deadlines, budget), documents you upload, your account information such as email, and messages you send us. Information collected automatically: basic usage, device, and log data (for example IP address, browser type, and pages viewed) used to run and secure the service. Information from providers: limited data from our authentication and payment providers needed to sign you in and process payments.
2. How we use information
To provide and improve the service — mapping pathways, flagging risks, and verifying facts you ask about; to process payments for paid reviews; to communicate with you; to maintain security and prevent abuse; and to comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your documents to train third-party models.
3. How we share information
We share information only with: service providers that operate the service on our behalf (authentication, hosting, encrypted document storage, and payment processing) under contracts limiting them to our instructions; partners you choose, when you give explicit, revocable consent to share a brief; authorities, where required by law or to protect rights and safety; and a successor in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. We do not share with advertisers or data brokers.
4. Your documents and consent
Uploaded documents are stored encrypted and are private to your account. Nothing is shared with a partner, advisor, or sponsor without your explicit consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
5. Cookies and analytics
We use cookies necessary to sign you in and keep the service working, along with limited, privacy-respecting analytics to understand and improve usage. We do not use advertising trackers. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
6. Data retention
We keep your case and documents while your account is active and for as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations. When you delete your data or account, we delete or de-identify it, subject to those obligations.
7. Security
We use technical and organizational measures — including encryption of stored documents and access controls — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and to notify you of material incidents as required by law.
8. Your rights and choices
You may access, correct, export, or delete your documents and account data. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the EU/UK GDPR or the CCPA/CPRA — including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of "sale" or "sharing" (which we do not do). To exercise any right, email support@ovana.me with the subject "Data request." We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
9. International users
Ovana is operated from the United States, and your information may be processed there. By using the service, you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in the U.S. and other countries where our providers operate, with appropriate safeguards.
10. Children
Ovana is intended for adults making education decisions and is not directed to children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will remove it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy and will change the "last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated before they take effect.
